Ocho Rios Jamaica
Ocho Rios, a once a small banana and fishing port, has now blossomed into a popular tourist destination. This Jamaican city has its own unique flavor, offering the usual range of sports and a major fishing tournament every fall in addition to a wide variety of accommodations, including all-inclusive resorts, couples-only complexes, and elegant hotels with spas.
Ocho Rios is far lusher than Montego Bay, and many of its resort hotels boast private sandy beaches. On the other hand, nightlife is better in Mo Bay; if you want hedonism, head for Negril. Ocho Rios? It's more tranquil.
Known for its abundant rainfall, verdant landscapes, rolling hills, and jagged cliffs, this region was once the preferred hangout for Noël Coward, Errol Flynn, and a host of British and American authors. Ian Fleming, creator of the James Bond spy thrillers, lived at Goldeneye near Ocho Rios.
