Jap-Jap - Part of the Wok's seating by day, this section serves à la carte Thai dinners, with reservations required. Steak House - Offering seating under white canopies next to the Flamingos pool, this dinner restaurant specializes in grilled meat and seafood served à la carte. Reservations required. El Piccolo - Located in the Tropical block, El Piccolo specializes in Italian fare in the evening, with an à la carte menu and reservations required. Mezcaltitan - This spot in the Flamingos block offers early morning Continental breakfast and fast foods such as burgers and nachos from late morning until early evening and again from 11 PM until 1 AM. Caiman - This spot in the Tropical block offers early morning Continental breakfast, and fast foods such as burgers and nachos from late morning until early evening and again from 11 PM until 1 AM. The long, beautiful beach offers rows of thatched-roof palapas for shade. On most days, gentle surf offers great boogie boarding. Some 40 yards offshore, a larger surf line provides true surfing, with surfboards available for rent on the beach. |

The 510-room Royal Decameron consists of five lodging buildings, or "blocks," of either three or four stories, with only one containing an elevator. Palm trees, lawns, flowering hedges, and gardens create a verdant tropical atmosphere. Activities, athletic contests, and entertainment conducted by the resort's staff begin with morning aerobics, continue through the day, and culminate with a nightly show in an open-air theater or in the disco nightclub, Conga. Children's activities are supervised daily near the pool. A business center includes four computers connected to the Internet. For a fee, there's shuttle-taxi service to downtown Puerto Vallarta 15 miles away. |

| The resort contains four pools. Three are along the 250-yard beach. One is located across the street from the resort's beachfront buildings and serves as an adults-only haven. This large, "quiet" pool is U-shaped, with a narrow channel linking two swimming areas and is surrounded by a spacious sundeck furnished with lounge chairs. The other three pools offer ocean and sunset views as well as sundeck lounge chairs. Two children's pools are located next to one of the beachfront pools. | |
